Where Can I Serve?
Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Greater St John is our mission to the world. It begins in our own homes and community, and spreads throughout the nation. Greater St. John’s members are involved in a variety of ministries including children ministry (early childhood through late teen years) as well as adult ministry.
Bible Study
Home and Foreign Mission
Home and Foreign Mission purpose is to train, educate, and develop believers young and old in mission work. The purpose of the Home and Foreign Mission is to get people ready for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our lessons demonstrate how we are to use our knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to win lost souls to Christ. The Home and Foreign Mission is not only for the missions field, but also in-house missions. Missions work has to be done both in our church home and in or mission field. Our home is where mission starts. We must seek a relationship with Christ in our home, in our church and in our community.
Prayer and Bible Band
Our Prayer and Bible Band study help members become more familiar with the Bible and learn what is expected of them in their lives as Christians. Our study help us learn how to love God, others and ourselves. We open up every session on our knees in prayer. This method of praying helps members learn humility in prayer. Prayer is one of the most important things we can do in this life. Prayer promotes a closer relationship with God. Through prayer, we learn how to hear from God and follow His lead.
Sunday School
Sunday School is another Bible class that we offer. The Sunday School class teaches us how to take biblical principles and apply them to our life and our Christian walk. The Sunday School offers classes for all age groups. Each class lesson is taught at a level that everyone can understand.
Ministries
Men’s Department
The Men’s Department at Greater St. John teaches men how to be Godly leaders in the home and in their church. The men are taught by our Pastor, Doctor Funches in how to take biblical principles and apply them to their own lives so the power of God can transform them into the men that God has called them to be. God is calling for courageous men to be in the kingdom to be an example of what it means to be a strong man spiritually and naturally.
